Box Lamp
The box lamp was made to gain a basic understanding of Rhino. I added skulls to the lamp resembling those used during Dia de los Muertos as the main design element.
Serial Sliced Sculpture
The sculpture was made by taking the main design element of guiros, the ridges, and focused on incorporating their vibrant colors onto the final product.
Waffle Construction Lamp
To establish the waffle construction for the lamp, I based the design off of UFOs and windchimes. To tie the design more closely to windchimes, small wooden pieces were added to the bottom of the lamp.
Pepakura Creature
As part of a group project, a member of the group created the merman model which was then sliced into pepakura pieces. Once complete, the pieces were laser cut with cardboard, assembled, and painted for a final, displayable sculpture.
